One child has died, 40 others injured at exit 111 on EB i30. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Bk63uVh8eX\">pic.twitter.com\/Bk63uVh8eX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kaila Lafferty (@KATVKaila) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KATVKaila\/status\/1069572290906648577?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 3, 2018<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nAt least 26 patients were being treated at the Arkansas Children&#8217;s Hospital in Little Rock and two underwent emergency surgery, Dr. Todd Maxson, chief pediatric trauma surgery at the hospital, said at a news conference Monday afternoon.\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n&#8220;The injuries have ranged really from injuries to the skull and brain to lots of lacerations, lots of broken bones, lots of contusions. We saw the whole gambit of that today,&#8221; Maxson said.\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n&#8220;Everybody is stable and doing well,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We did two emergency operations today and both patients are doing well. I expect them to make a full recovery.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nChanda Cashen Chac\u00f3n, chief operating officer at Arkansas Children&#8217;s Hospital, said 22 of the patients treated at the hospital were released and four were admitted for further treatment.\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nAnother 13 patients were treated for minor injuries at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Two patients were airlifted to the hospital, officials said.\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nOther patients were treated at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.\n<\/p>\n<p itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nNickalous Manning, superintendent of Aspire Public Schools in Memphis, said the child who died was from his school district.
